Introcuction

Introduction

Social Empowerment Forum (SEF) Baglung, registered in 2063 B.S. (AD 2007) in District Administration Office, Baglung and Social Welfare Council, is an organized non-profiteering and welfare oriented non-governmental organization. This organization has been established to conduct various programmes in economic, social, educational, health and human rights sectors. It supports to preserve and promote the rights of children, women, ethnic groups, dalits and all other classes of people in the society following participatory decentralized system. This organization attempts to increase the access to each and every sector building up capacity of the community organizations through social empowerment process in a sustainable way. Social Empowerment is not only the multidimensional social process, but also a goal of development. Social empowerment means a social process as well as economic, cultural and political empowerment. This organization attempts to fight against caste system, poverty and social disorders. Therefore, the ultimate aim of this organization is to contribute to poverty reduction.

Goal

To contribute to poverty reduction by conducting social and economic development programmes through social empowerment.

Objectives

  • To support to reduce poverty by conducting health, education, population, human rights, drinking water and sanitation, awareness programmes, environment protection, saving-credit mobilization, physical infrastructure and construction activities through social mobilization.
  • To support communities to identify their problems, resource management and project implementation for social empowerment.
  • To develop necessary human resources by developing necessary knowledge, skill and attitude in targeted groups for community empowerment
  • To focus the development and construction activities based on equality and equity among women, children, dalits, indigenous people, ethnic, poor and marginalized groups based on research and facts.
